Hello everyone! My name is Barrett, and I live in Connecticut. This past fall I joined a sportsman’s club to get into bird hunting and hunting with dogs. My experience up until then had only been with deer; after a couple of pheasant hunts, though, I’m much more keen on spending time in the field with friends and dogs than I am sitting in a tree stand for hours on end! I’ll be looking for a puppy or two in spring of 2024 or even later this year, possibly.
My family has a Ryman Setter named Gypsy who we rescued from Above & Beyond English Setter Rescue. She had a litter of pups back in 2017 or 2018. In addition to finding some pups of my own, I was hoping to find out if anyone on this forum happened to be Gypsy’s breeder. Her most distinctive physical characteristic is dark brown ticking around her nose. (I’ll post some pics in a separate reply)
I’ve always wanted to hunt with Gypsy, but unfortunately she had a severe hip injury before she was rescued by Above & Beyond and can’t go out in the field for more than an hour or so. Now she just enjoys being a lap dog, sleeping on the couch with the old man, and being the center of attention when we walk downtown!
