Just want to say hello. Do not own a setter yet but do own a german shorthair pointer. I am really interested in joining the Ryman Setter family soon in the near future. Since i have been reading “A Gentlemans Shooting Dog” and hunt grouse and woodcock with woodcock being my favorite. I think a Ryman setter would fit in just well for me.

Welcome Gary.  May I suggest that you pick up an additional book as you learn about ryman-type setters?  The title is The Real Ryman Setter and the authors are two of RS’s Founding Breeder Members, Walt Lesser and Lisa Weisse.  They are too modest to mention their own book but it has good – and accurate – history on these dogs as well as being a good read about these setters hunting the Appalachians.  Let us at RS know how we can help you in your search for your next great gun dog.
